Abstract

The work is devoted to the analysis of the dependence of the Russian financial sector on the state, the assessment of the impact of the state presence in the assets of financial companies on the dynamics of the development of the financial sector as a whole, as well as the study of the regulatory impact on the functioning of financial institutions, both banking and non-banking. The relevance of the work is determined by the scale of dependence of the financial sector on the state: Russia ranks first in the world in terms of the state's share in the assets of commercial banks, a similar indicator in the assets of non-state pension funds exceeds 90%, the regulatory burden on the insurance and investment markets is so great that it leads to a lack of opportunities for the emergence of new players and intensive development. The work contains a retrospective analysis of the state's presence in the financial market, an analysis of the regulatory and supervisory burden on the financial services market, a comparative analysis of the size of financial markets, as well as a comparative analysis of the state's presence in the financial markets.
