Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals’ retain their relevance to both international agenda and domestic socio-economic policy, especially in developing countries, such as Russia. The authors of this paper analyze the approaches and practices of six major international aid donors (Germany, Canada, Japan, China, Brazil, India) in assisting the developing countries in achieving the SDGs, as well as implementing the SDGs domestically. A comparative analysis of the leading donors’ best practices and the Russian experience in implementing the SDGs formed the basis for the recommendations on increasing the effectiveness of the Russian Federation’s policy in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals at the national and international levels.
