Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the dynamics of the Russian economy based on imports in 2006 - 2013 years. The paper presents a comparative analysis of industrial output and imports of intermediate goods, investment in fixed assets and capital goods imports, retail sales and imports of consumer goods. Particular attention is paid to the sensitivity of imports of consumer, investment, intermediate goods to a change in the national currency. The results obtained are useful for a better understanding of the nature and degree of dependence on imports of Russian economy at different stages of its development, as well as areas of import substitution in the medium term. The results can be used to develop measures of monetary and economic policy aimed at solving the problem of import substitution, the drafting of legislation and regulations in this area.
