Abstract

The increase in consumer awareness to supply chain abuse has undoubtedly brought pressure on the retail organisations within the UK to focus on their ethics in the way that they ensure product becomes available for the consumer in the UK. It cannot be disputed that there has always been a focus of the large retail organisations on ensuring that there is nothing embarrassing that could arise from their supply chain, but with the increasing globalization of the retail supply chain, the emphasis is greater than ever on trying to ensure a robust and problem free supplier base.
