Abstract

La mijlocul anului 2008, cand efectele crizei financiare incepusera a se face simtite in multe tari dezvoltate ale lumii incepand cu SUA, dar si cu ale tari europene precum Germania, Marea Britanie, Franta, Spania, Italia etc., Romania se considera inca departe de aceste influiente, iar dupa unii, chiar imuna la efectele crizei. Pana la izbucnirea crizei financiare, economia Romaniei parcursese cativa ani de crestere economica sustinuta cu rate anuale de crestere de 6-7 si chiar 8%, pe fondul acumularii insa a unui deficit extern urias (peste 15% din PIB) si a unei datorii externe mari, 56.42 miliarde euro la finele anului 2008, din care, 43% pe termen scurt. Contractarea de catre Romania a unui imprumut urias de la FMI, Comisia Europeana, Banca Mondiala si BERD in suma de 19.95 miliarde de euro in primavara anului 2009, era considerata “centura de siguranta” pentru salvarea tarii de efectele crizei financiare care se globaliza tot mai mult, cuprinzand in mrejele sale nu numai pietele financiare, dar si productia, comertul, forta de munca.
