Abstract

Global security conditions have become more uncertain than ever in recent years. In particular, the energy sector is experiencing rapid structural changes and a swift geopolitical realignment, while multiple factors—including the intensification of strategic competition between the United States and China, the prolonged Russia–Ukraine war, accelerated climate-change responses and energy transitions, and the launch of the second Trump administration in the United States—are intertwining to further deepen the instability of the international political order and the global energy market. Amid such a rapidly changing international environment, energy security is emerging as a core issue that combines national security, diplomatic strategy, and energy geopolitics.
