Abstract

Le présent chapitre a pour but d’illustrer comment un projet d’investissement visant à transformer une route de gravier en une surface goudronnée devrait être évalué.Le projet est situé dans le Limpopo, en Afrique du Sud.Il consiste à moderniser deux routes existantes, principalement en gravier, en un route de surface reliant les districts de Sekhukhune et de capricorne. La route entière comprend plusieurs tronçons allant de Flaf Boshielo à Mafefe, Sekororo, GaGa Seleka et enfin à Mmatladi.Il a été estimé que plus de 98% des tronçons de route en gravier sont considérés en mauvais état ou en état moyen.Les principaux utilisateurs de Les routes existantes sont des minibus et des véhicules privés transportant des personnes de zones locales vers Lebwakhomo et d’autres villes. L’activité économique prédominante dans la région est une agriculture à petite échelle, réalisée sur un certain nombre de périmètres irrigués. L'importance d'évaluer les segments d'une route séparément si la leçon à tirer de ce cas est l'importance d'évaluer les segments d'une route séparément si le trafic sur les segments ou le coût de la modernisation sont très différents d'un segment à l'autre.
