Elinkeinorakenteen muutos – näkökulma 1990-luvun murrokseen

Abstract

Rakennemuutos on ollut epäilemättä keskeinen suomalaista yhteiskuntaa luonnehtiva tekijä. Elinkeinorakenteen muuttumiselle on ollut tunnusomaista se, että Suomessa teollistuminen käynnistyi muista Euroopan maista jäljessä, mutta elinkeinorakenteen murros on ollut sitäkin nopeampaa erityisesti toisen maailmansodan jälkeisenä aikana. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan elinkeinorakenteen muutosta Suomessa. Artikkeli jakaantuu neljään pääosaan. Ensimmäisessä osassa selkeytetään elinkeinorakennetta ja rakennemuutosta kuvaavaa keskeistä käsitteistöä. Samalla esitellään kansantaloustieteen klassikoiden ajatuksia elinkeinorakenteesta. Toisessa osassa luonnehditaan rakennemuutoksen pitkää linjaa Suomessa karkealla ns. kolmen sektorin viitekehyksellä sekä eritellään elinkeinorakenteen muuttumiseen vaikuttavia kansantalouden perustekijöitä. Kolmannessa osassa esitellään rakennemuutoksen ilmenemistä ja vaikutuksia 1990-luvun syvässä lamassa toimipaikka-aineistoihin perustuvien tutkimusten näkökulmasta. Taloustieteessä vakiintuneen näkemyksen mukaan rakennemuutos on voimakkainta toimipaikkatasolla nimenomaan syvien taantumien aikana. Artikkeli päättyy yhteenvetoon.
