Palkka- ja tuloerot EU-maissa

Abstract

Suomalaisten palkansaajien keskituntipalkat olivat v. 2000 lähellä EU-maiden keskitasoa. Palkkaerot olivat pieniä useimpiin muihin EU-maihin verrattuna. Suomalaisen palkansaajan ostovoimaa heikensivät korkeahko hintataso ja suhteellisen kireä verotus etenkin ylemmissä palkkaluokissa. Nettopalkkojen ostovoima oli alempikuin useimmissa muissa EU-maissa. Palkkojen ja käytettävissä olevien tulojen kehitys oli Suomessa vuosina 1996–2000 EU-maiden keskitasoa. Sen sijaan tulonjaon epätasaisuus kasvoi Suomessa samaan aikaan muita EU-maita nopeammin.
