Osa-aikatyö yksityisillä palvelualoilla

Abstract

Suomessa osa-aikatyötä tehdään keskimääräistä yleisemmin vähittäiskaupassa, majoitus- ja ravitsemisalalla sekä kiinteistöpalvelualoilla. Enemmistölle osa-aikatyön tekemisen syynä on kokoaikatyön puute. Vähittäiskaupassa yli puolet ja majoitus- ja ravitsemisalalla lähes puolet osa-aikaisista tekee työtä iltaisin, lauantaisin ja sunnuntaisin. Osa-aikaisilla työaikojen epätyypillisyys on yleisempää kuin kokoaikaisilla ja osa myös kokee, että työajat sopivat huonosti työn ja muun elämän yhteensovittamiseen. Osa-aikaiset ansaitsivat keskimäärin 62,2–68 prosenttia alan kokoaikaisten kuukausiansioista, ja yli puolet koki vaikeuksia tulla toimeen palkallaan. Toimipaikan suurempi koko, naisten suurempi osuus työvoimasta, työn määrän vaihtelu päivittäin ja viikoittain sekä viikonlopputyö lisäävät osa-aikatyön teettämisen todennäköisyyttä ja sen intensiteettiä.
