Abstract

Ikäihmisten asumispalveluiden tuottavuutta pyritään nostamaan, jotta kunnat pystyisivät vastaamaan kasvavaan palvelutarpeeseen tulevaisuudessa. Onko yksityisten palveluntuottajien käyttö vastaus tähän haasteeseen? Miten käy hoidon laadun ja henkilöstön hyvinvoinnin? Toimivatko nykyiset palveluiden kilpailuttamistavat? Kirjassa pureudutaan ikäihmisen asumispalveluiden kustannusten, laadun ja henkilöstön hyvinvoinnin eroihin yksityisten ja kunnallisten tuottajien välillä. Toisena teemana on kuntatilaajien ja yksityisten palveluntuottajien kokemukset kilpailutuksista. Tutkimuksessa on käytetty tilastollisista aineistoa sekä haastatteluita.
