Työttömyys – taloustieteellisiä puheenvuoroja

    Abstract

    Vaikka suuresta lamasta on jo yli kymmenen vuotta, oli vuonna 2004 vielä 229000 suomalaista työttömänä. Näille 229000 suomalaiselle työttömyys on jokapäiväinen henkilökohtainen ongelma, joka aiheuttaa päivittäistä huolta toimeentulosta ja johtaa usein muihin sosiaalisiin ja terveydellisiin ongelmiin. Tämä artikkelikokoelma kokoaa yhteen viimeaikaista taloustieteellistä tutkimusta työttömyyden syistä ja seurauksista. Kirjoittajat ovat viime aikoina tehneet empiiristä tutkimusta aiheista, joista ei aikaisemmin ole julkaistu kattavia raportteja. Kirjoittajat ovat myös tutkijoita, jotka ovat lähestyneet tutkimuskysymyksiä uudesta näkökulmasta. Näin ollen kirja sisältää artikkeleita mm. maahanmuuttajien työttömyydestä, työttömyysturvan muutosten vaikutuksista, työttömyyden taloudellisesta toimeentulosta ja henkisestä hyvinvoinnista sekä viimeaikaisten talouspoliittisten ratkaisujen vaikutuksesta nuorten ja ikääntyneitten työttömyyteen.
