Abstract

In this study, substrate surface channel and bridge piers is modeled by utilization of Ansys Fluent. Continuity and Momentum equations is solved and for the pressure-velocity linkage SIMPLE algorithm is utilized. In order to model turbulence due to relatively high Reynolds value, K-ε is being used. Effect of wall shear stress, velocity magnitude and static pressure is being investigated at different heights thorough substrate longitudinal lines. It was found that different heights of longitudinal lines won’t affect static pressure, while it affects velocity magnitude and wall shear stress significantly.
