Abstract

Social, economic and political crises and socio-economic change have triggered new forms of social and territorial representations and practices in Kabylia. The article discusses the social and territorial representations of young project promoters in the Beni Ghobri forest. The case study shows that there has been a resurgence of representations while a new kind of representations emerged, leading to new economic practices. These practices allow us to understand the new relationships to the territory, in this case the forest, and the future of social structures, namely the djemaa.
