Abstract

Súčasný stav kapitálového trhu na Slovensku charakterizuje dlhodobá stagnácia a zlyhávanie jeho základných funkcií. Domáci kapitálový trh prakticky nezabezpečuje účinné prerozdeľovanie voľných finančných zdrojov, čím sa oprávnene objavujú otázky o jeho zmysluplnosti. Snaha o jeho zefektívnenie a podporu nie je samoúčelná, neriešenie, resp. odkladanie súčasných problémov kapitálového trhu by mohlo mať za následok ohrozenie dlhodobej stability finančného sektora. Vo februári 2015 Európska komisia otvorila diskusiu na tému odstraňovania bariér voľného pohybu kapitálu a vytvorila tak priestor na riešenie otázky, či existuje potenciál na oživenie domáceho kapitálového trhu a či jeho efektívnejšie fungovanie môže byť pridanou hodnotou pre slovenskú ekonomiku.
