Abstract

Mediante la aplicación del análisis discriminante se analizan los hábitos de uso y consumo de las más representativas tecnologías de información de los universitarios de Tijuana. Se encuentra que la penetración y el gasto en tecnologías de información y comunicación (TIC) dependen del nivel de ingresos y el sexo de los usuarios. Esta última característica también determina los atributos más valorados al adquirir un teléfono celular. La satisfacción en el servicio y la percepción sobre la competencia en el mercado se relacionan con el nivel imagen corporativa de la empresa a la que se está afiliado. Asimismo, quienes tienen mayor conocimiento tecnológico incrementan su disposición a gastar en este tipo de tecnologías. Por último, el contar con Internet en casa parece ser crucial para fomentar la compra vía electrónica.
