La agricultura orgánica: los beneficios de un sistema de producción sostenible

Abstract

Se intenta responder a la pregunta: ¿Cuáles son los beneficios asociados a un sistema de producción sostenible como la agricultura orgánica? Mediante un análisis a un pequeño minifundio en el Valle de Lurín, se identifica los beneficios económicos, sociales y ambientales de este tipo de producción. Además, por medio de la Encuesta Nacional de Productores de la Asociación Nacional de Productores Ecológicos del Perú (ANPE), se realizó un análisis econométrico mediante un modelo logit para hallar los determinantes de la certificación en la sierra del Perú. En el caso de los productores orgánicos de la sierra, las variables explicativas que aportan significativamente cambios diferenciales en la probabilidad de tener una certificación orgánica son la pertenencia a una institución de apoyo (+22%) y el autoconsumo (-18%).
