Políticas de promoção de atividades físicas para idosos melhoram o bem-estar e a saúde dessa população?

Abstract

O estudo analisa políticas e programas de promoção da atividade física voltados à população idosa, reunindo evidências de pesquisas nacionais e internacionais sobre seus efeitos, mecanismos, formas de implementação, custos e percepções dos beneficiários. De modo geral, os resultados indicam efeitos positivos consistentes sobre a saúde, o bem-estar psicológico e a qualidade de vida, além de favorecerem a socialização e o sentimento de pertencimento. A prática regular de atividade física se mostra eficaz não apenas como instrumento de prevenção de doenças, mas também como estratégia de integração social e de ressignificação do envelhecimento.
