Abstract

This article continues the topic of the reform of education in 17th-century England from the paper ‘Literacy and the education system in 16th- and 17th -century England’, published as preprint on this site in January 2026 (DOI: 10.31235/osf.io/zfs7r_v1). Gresham College and London as the 'third university' in England are the themes.
