Abstract

The objective of this policy brief was to propose a comprehensive strategy together with the food bank of Bogota to reach the food services of the organizations enrolled in the program "Juégatela por la nutrición integral" to regulate the supply of unhealthy foods, replacing them with more nutritious and healthy options, this by controlling the delivery and distribution of healthy foods by the food bank. To meet this objective, we reviewed the current regulations in Colombia, compared with international policies in countries such as Perú, Chile, and México; and made a detailed analysis of the beneficiary population through the current databases of the food bank of Bogotá. In conclusion, a viable proposal was obtained, which will later be implemented throughout the national territory by regulating the sale of unhealthy food in school stores, to take this strategy to an international scale, since the implementation of this strategy would not only promote healthier eating among beneficiaries but would also lay the foundations for a culture of self-care and wellness.
