Abstract

Hoarding of treasures or in Arabic better known as Al-Kanzu. the meaning of AlKanzu means storing or hoarding wealth in or on the ground in the form of gold and silver. The majority of fiqh experts are of the opinion that the practice of hoarding wealth is unlawful. The scholars stated that anyone who hoards wealth and does not spend it in the way of Allah is threatened with a painful torment. Islam strictly forbids hoarding of wealth and instead encourages the passage of wealth among all sections of society. Hoarding of wealth is not only in the form of money, but also gold, silver, and other basic necessities. This research uses the library research method. By examining several interpretations and opinions of fiqh scholars to understand the meaning of Surah At-Taubah verses 34-35. While the Al-Quran is the main source in this study. The conclusion is that Sharia investment is one way to avoid the practice of hoarding wealth.
