Perilaku Buang Air Besar Sembarangan (BABs) di Indonesia

Abstract

Praktik buang air besar sembarangan (BABs) menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarat di negara berkembang dan miskin khususnya di Indonesia. Berdasarkan laporan Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) pada tahun 2021, lebih dari 400 juta orang masih melakukan buang air besar secara sembarangan (Belay et al., 2022). Masalah ini terutama terjadi pada penduduk miskin yang bertempat tinggal di wilayah pedesaan. Di Indonesia, Berdasarkan riset kesehatan yang dilakukan pada tahun 2018 (RISKESDAS), mengungkapkan bahwa proporsi individu yang melakukan buang air besar sembarangan adalah sebesar 88,2% (94,2% di perkotaan dan 80,9% di pedesaan.
