Kajian Business Model pada Bisnis Pos USPS

Abstract

Bisnis pos USPS yang didirikan sejak tahun 1775 mengalami kenaikan yang sangat signifikan (rise) hingga mereka mengalami overload dalam jumlah surat pada tahun 1967. Namun sejak tahun 2006, industri layanan pos ini mengalami penurunan (fall). Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui alasan penurunan (fall) dan kenaikan (rise) pada bisnis pos USPS. Studi ini menggunakan studi kasus jamak pada bisnis USPS yang bergerak di bidang pos dengan analisis business model canvas, business pattern, business environment & value proposition canvas. Bisnis pos USPS pernah tren pertumbuhan dan sukses karena memiliki value proposition memberi layanan hingga di area area pedesaan dimana UPS dan FedEx tidak menyediakan layanan mereka. Namun, bisnis pos USPS mengalami penurunan karena teknologi di masa itu sedang sangat naik dan munculah e-mail dan pesan teks melalui handphone. Studi merekomendasikan key partnership alternatif dari USPS seperti jasa COD, jasa cargo shipping.
