Abstract

Hari-hari belakangan kaum Kristen khususnya aliran pentakosta-kharismatik di Indonesia diramaikan oleh polemic mengenai “pentakosta ke tiga, peristiwa tersebut dideklarasikan bersamaan dalam acara Empowered21 di SICC Bogor beberapa waktu yang lalu. Tokoh utama yang menjadi sorotan adalah Pdt. DR. Ir. Niko Nyotorahardjo Kaum Pentakostal mempopulerkan istilah pentakosta yang ke-3. Fenomena tersebut menimbulkan pro dan kontra di kalangan gereja aliran pentakosta-Kharismatik. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pandangan alkitab, sejarah serta relevansi kegerakan tersebut dengan menggunakan analisis kontrastif sebagai sarana untuk membandingkan bagaimana konteks para Rasul dengan zaman ini. Tulisan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan konstruktif kepada gereja khususnya aliran pentakosta-kharismatik. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa peristiwa pentakosta perlu dipahami manakah dari unsur-unsur yang dapat terulang, bahkan menjadi norma atau ketetapan bagi gereja masa kini?
