Abstract

Batik is a very large source of the economy in the Pekalongan area. Neighborhoods in the Pekalongan area on average have batik businesses or work in the batik industry, so various products appear with a very large number of models and patterns. CompetiFaiz in this indand try is very tight so it requires strategies to deal with this. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, namely going directly to the field to interview batik entrepreneurs in the Pekalongan area to find out the various challenges faced by these entrepreneurs and their strategies in dealing with competition in the batik industry. The theory that I use is the theory of constructive structuralism approach by Pierre Bourdieu
