The Death of Dark Energy: Entropy-Driven Gravitational Suppression as Cosmic Acceleration

Abstract

We demonstrate that the phenomenon conventionally attributed to "dark energy" – the accelerated expansion of the universe – can be naturally and quantitatively explained by an intrinsic energy-dependent suppression of gravitational strength, requiring no exotic fields or cosmological constant. Rooted in entropy-driven coherence decay, gravitational coupling scales inversely with energy squared (1/E^2) across systems ranging from quantum laboratory experiments to cosmological dynamics. Implementing an energy-suppressed gravitational coupling G_eff(E) directly into the Friedmann equations yields cosmic acceleration without invoking new substances. We show that suppression predicts 8–12% anisotropy deficits at high multipoles (l = 2000–2500) in the CMB, mild late-time deviations in structure formation, and slight gravitational wave amplitude damping at high frequencies. The coherence-driven framework not only eliminates the need for dark energy, but unifies gravitational, quantum, and thermodynamic principles under a single entropic law.
