Abstract

Dalam dunia bisnis pemasaran mempunyai peranan yang sangat penting. Pemasaran sendiri berarti kegiatan manusia yang berusaha untuk memuaskan keinginan dan kebutuhan melalui proses pertukaran. Dalam kegiatan pemasaran ada dua pihak yang berperan yaitu produsen dan konsumen. Produsen adalah pembuat barang-barang hasil industri dan jasa, sedangkan konsumen adalah pemakai barang hasil industri dan jasa. Barangbarang hasil industri dan jasa yang diproduksi oleh produsen digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen untuk meningkatkan penjualan maka produsen mengelola produknya agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen. Karakteristik konsumen akan membedakan produk satu dengan produk yang lain. Untuk memudahkan konsumen mengenali produk yang satu dengan produk yang lain, maka produsen perlu memberi merk produknya. Pemberian merk terhadap suatu produk akan bermanfaat untuk konsumen dalam memenuhi kebutuhannya dan bagi produsen bermanfaat agar produk yang dihasilkan mempunyai ciri khas dimata konsumen
