Islamic Views On The Tradition Of Earth Alms In Api-Api Village, Wonokerto Sub-District

Abstract

This article discusses the after-earth tradition according to Islamic views in Api-api Village, Wonokerto District. This research is included in the field research class using the theory concerned with the procedures for giving alms in Api-api Village, Wonokerto District, with all the views and responses of the villagers. This study aims to understand the rituals or processes for almsgiving and the Islamic thoughts and reactions of Api-api village residents Wonokerto District. The qualitative method used in this research is qualitative, then the sources are collected by interviewing the villagers, primary and secondary data sources. Meanwhile, analyzing the data is done qualitatively. This research yields the perspective of villagers about the ritual of almsgiving that earth alms is a culture that must be carried out as a form of gratitude for the blessings and sustenance that God Almighty has bestowed upon him, as well as the hope that he will be given greasy care for the following year. Meanwhile, the views of other people say that almsgiving is a culture of their ancestors which has been passed down from generation to generation and has become legendary among them and is still actively commemorated today as a form of expression of gratitude for the blessings and sustenance that have been received this year and also hope that it will be facilitated in the next year's maintenance. The tradition of almsgiving in Api-Api village, Wonokerto sub-district, is usually carried out once a year at the beginning of the month of Muharram, which takes place at the local village hall and then there are several offerings, incense, buffalo heads, and snacks that are washed ashore. The livelihood of residents is a fisherman.
