What is Social Responsibility (Apa itu tanggung jawab sosial) • The Classical View (Tampilan klasik) Satu-satunya tanggung jawab sosial manajemen adalah memaksimalkan keuntungan (menciptakan keuntungan finansial) dengan menjalankan bisnis demi kepentingan terbaik pemegang saham (pemilik perusahaan) Menghabiskan sumber daya perusahaan untuk melakukan “kebaikan sosial” secara tidak wajar akan meningkatkan biaya yang menurunkan keuntungan bagi pemilik dan menaikan harga bagi konsumen. • The Socioeconomic View (Pandangan sosial ekonomi) Tanggung jawab sosial manajemen lebih dari sekedar menghasilkan keuntungan, namun juga mencakup perlindungan dan peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Korporasi bukanlah entitas independen yang hanya bertanggung kkepada pemegang saham. Perusahaan mempunyai tanggung jawab moral kepada masyarakat luas untuk terlibat dalam permasalahan sosial, hukum, dan politik. “untuk melakukan hal benar”
