Abstract

Bisnis media sosial Friendster seperti Myspace, Orkut dan Cryworld pada tahun 2000-an ada dimana-mana mengalami kenaikan (rise). Sejak tahun 2010, industri teknologi ini mengalami penurunan (fall). Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui alasan penurunan (fall) dan kenaikan (rise) pada bisnis friendster. Studi ini menggunakan studi kasus jamak pada bisnis friendster yang bergerak di bidang teknologi dengan analisis business model canvas, business pattern, business environment & value proposition canvas. Bisnis friendster pernah tren pertumbuhan dan sukses karena value proposition banyak fitur yang dapat digunakan untuk mencari teman dan mengobrol dengan teman melalui comment section. Namun, bisnis friendster mengalami penurunan karena channels banyak produk baru yang menjadi saingan produk Friendster. Studi merekomendasikan revenue streams adanya fitur termasuk ‘free’ untuk penggunaan Friendster tidak dipungut apapun.
