Abstract

Title in Spanish: Evaluación de la ENSAR 2003 Resumen: El principal objetivo de este reporte es evaluar la exactitud y precisión de las tasas de fecundidad que pueden ser estimadas con base en la Encuesta Nacional de Salud Reproductiva 2003 (ENSAR 2003). Los organizadores de la ENSAR 2003 nos solicitaron realizar un análisis similar al elaborado por Ordorica y Potter (1980) para la Encuesta Nacional de Fecundidad 1976. La evaluación aquí presentada cumple con la mayoría de los aspectos de dicha petición, a excepción de dos principales diferencias. La primera es que, desde que a otros investigadores se les solicitó evaluar la nupcialidad y mortalidad resultantes de la ENSAR, los autores de este reporte decidimos no hacer estimados de estas variables ni evaluar la calidad de los datos relevantes a éstas. La segunda diferencia es que hemos incorporado la variación muestral explícitamente en el cálculo de las tasas de fecundidad, usando ciertos procedimientos en el programa STATA, que han facilitado la estimación de intervalos de confianza para tales parámetros; dicha estimación toma en cuenta los pesos o ponderaciones, el estrato y las unidades de muestreo.
