Abstract

Papa Fransuva, America Magazine isimli dergiye verdiği mülakatta, Ukrayna halkından “şehitlere” atıfla, Rus olmayan işgalci etnik askerleri “muhtemelen en zalimler” olarak nitelendirmiştir. Çeçenler çoğunlukla Müslüman olup, Buryatlar ise Tibetli Budist ve Şamandır. Basının, işgalci Rus Ordusu bünyesinde Hristiyan olmayan birliklere yönelik ayrımcı tutumu yeni bir olgu değildir. Hristiyan olmayanların insanlığa karşı daha fazla suç işlemiş olduğuna dair kanıt bulunmamaktadır. Rus şiddetini askerlerin ırksal veya dinsel kökenine bağlamak barışı teşvik etmeyecektir.
