Abstract

Buku ini hendak merangkum "scholarship spirit" dari John Ruhulessin (JR) yang melayani Gereja Protestan Maluku (GPM) selama 10 tahun (2005-2015) sebagai Ketua MPH, setelah sebelumnya selama 5 tahun (2000-2005) memimpin Angkatan Muda GPM. Buku ini memberikan ulasan tentang bagaimana JR dan rekan-rekannya mengartikulasikan gagasan dan konsern bahkan komitmennya terhadap nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dan pluralisme di ruang publik. Buku ini terdiri atas lima bab. Bab pertama merupakan biografi singkat JR. Bab dua memuat impresi dan apresiasi para sahabat dan kolega. Bab tiga dan empat berisi naskah-naskah Pidato Pembukaan Sidang BPL/MPL Sinode dan pidato HUT GPM. Bab lima memuat tulisan-tulisan terpilih yang pernah dipresentasikan di berbagai forum gerejawi maupun forum lintas agama. Dengan membaca buku ini, pembaca akan mengenal lebih dekat seorang John Ruhulessin, Pendeta sekaligus pelayan dan penggiat pelayanan publik.
