Abstract

Kekhawatiran seputar otomatisasi dan dampak teknologi pada pekerjaan ini terus tumbuh karena inovasi berpotensi mengubah lanskap ketenagakerjaan. Meskipun jutaan pekerjaan bisa hilang akibat teknologi baru, jutaan pekerjaan juga akan tercipta (masih belum jelas apakah akan ada cukup pekerjaan baru). Kekhawatiran tentang robot, otomatisasi, dan kecerdasan buatan (artificial intelligence/AI) kehilangan bahwa munculnya teknologi lebih cenderung mengubah pekerjaan, bukan menghilangkannya. Di bidang manufaktur, perusahaan bereksperimen dengan meminta pekerja lantai dan lini menggunakan eksoskeleton mekanis untuk mengurangi ketegangan dan kelelahan saat mengangkat benda berat. Dan dalam penjualan, perwakilan perlu menjadi lebih mampu dengan pemasaran dan keterlibatan online untuk beradaptasi dengan preferensi pelanggan. Teknologi mengubah cara kita bekerja, tetapi kekhawatiran tentang pekerjaan mana yang hilang dan diperoleh, dan siapa yang terpengaruh oleh perubahan, itu penting dalam mempertimbangkan apakah orang akan memiliki kesempatan untuk beralih dari pekerjaan kemarin ke pekerjaan besok.
