İstemsiz Yabancı Düşmanlığı Refleksi Batı Avrupa Akademi Dünyasında Yerleşmiş Yabancı Düşmanlığını Gösteriyor: İsveç Örneği

Abstract

İsveçli bir profesör, bir Türk üniversite öğrencisine karşı yabancı düşmanı davranışta bulunmakla suçlanmıştır. Bu olay, ilk bakışta, akademi dünyasında hoşgörü ve kabullenme eksikliğinin münferit bir örneği gibi görünmektedir. İsveç’teki son seçimleri ve çeşitli partilerin yabancı düşmanlığı ve ırkçılıkla bağlantılı olabilecek konulardaki tutumlarını kısaca hatırlamakta fayda vardır. İsveç Demokratları seçimlerde en başarılı parti olmuştur. Ortak anlayışa göre, İsveç Demokratları Nazi sempatizanları tarafından kurulmuş olup, onlarca yıldır marjinalleştirilmişlerdir. Pek çok kişi, sağcı partilerin Avrupa’da doğrudan iktidara gelmesinden veya hükümeti dolayı yoldan etkilemesinden endişe etmektedir. Bu ve benzeri örneklerle beraber, hükümet yetkililerinin mesajları, yeni “paradigma değişikliğinin” işaretleri olarak gösterilmektedir. Ancak, bazıları “paradigma kaymasının” abartılmaması gerektiğini ileri sürmektedir.
