Abstract

Ampas tebu merupakan sumber energi yang terbarukan dan tersedia cukup besar sehingga dapat dioptimasikan dengan cara menurunkan kadar air ampas melalui penerapan teknologi pengeringan serta memanfaatkan program perawatan terjadwal agar jam berhenti giling di pabrik gula dapat ditekan kurang dari 5 persen. Indonesia termasuk Negara yang memiliki hasil perkebunan yang cukup tinggi dibandingkan dengan negara-negara lain, sehingga sudah sepantasnya negara Indonesia untuk memperhatikan daya saing pabrik gula. Tentunya, tebu memiliki ampas yang memiliki banyak manfaat. Tetapi, produksi tebu di Indonesia mengalami penurunan yang cukup signifikan yang dibuktikan dengan pabrik gula di Indonesia yang kurang memiliki daya saing karena harga gula yang tidak berada dalam kondisi pasar yang sesungguhnya sehingga tidak mencapai keseimbangan.
