Abstract

Resesi merupakan penurunan terhadap aktivitas ekonomi yang signifikan dan juga lama. Resesi juga berarti kontraksi atau perubahan besar-besaran dalam hal kegiatan ekonomi. Para ahli menyatakan resesi terjadi ketika ekonomi suatu negara mengalami peningkatan dalam jumlah pengangguran, penurunan ritel, produk domestik bruto (PDB) yang negatif, dan terdapat kontraksi pendapatan dan manufaktur untuk jangka waktu yang lama maupun pertumbuhan ekonomi riil bernilai negatif selama dua kuartal berturutturut. Kondisi ini umumnya terjadi karena dipengaruhi oleh ketidakstabilan dari investasi, pendapatan nasional, konsumsi, pengeluaran, hingga ekspor-impor. Indikator yang sekiranya mampu memunculkan resesi yakni penurunan PDB, penurunan pendapatan riil, meningkatnya pengangguran, stagnasi produksi industri dan penjualan eceran.
