Abstract

Zakat bagi umat Islam merupakan suatu kewajiban yang memiliki makna yang sangat fundamental. Selain berkaitan erat dengan aspek-aspek ketuhanan, ekonomi dan sosial. Diantara aspek-aspek ketuhananadalah banyaknya ayat-ayat al-Qur’an menyebutkan masalah zakat, termaksud diantaranya 27 ayat yang menyandingkan kewajiban zakat dengan kewajiban shalat secara bersamaan. Sangat jelas dalam al-Qur’an dan hadis mengenai kewajian zakat. Zakat dalam upaya pemecahan masalah-masalah kemanusiaan, seperti masalah kemiskinan dan kesenjangan sosial dalam kepemilikan kekayaan. Maka dari itu perlunya mekanisme dalam pengelolaa, pengempulan, pendistribusian dan pendayagunaan.
