Abstract

One area often affected by Pekalongan Regency's tidal floods is Jeruk Sari Village. The village, located on the border of the regency and Pekalongan City, is an area that once had a lot of potentials, both from natural wealth and demographic conditions. The tidal flood that hit the village made Jeruk Sari turn into an area that contrasted with the previous situation. Seeing this problem, the community did not remain silent and continued striving for a new idea to deal with the economic crisis. Finally, the concept was popularized in the form of floating cage cultivation in Jeruk Sari Village. This study aims to identify the diffusion process of floating cage cultivation innovation in Jeruk Sari Village based on the perspective of Rogers's innovation diffusion theory. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data analysis in the form of case studies. The results showed how many residents were able to accept the floating cage innovation; some were even interested in conducting trials, some other residents were skeptical of the success of the floating cage innovation, and some were indifferent.
