Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji tingkat kesadaran UMKM yang seharusnya menjadi wajib pajak, yang di ukur melalui 3 hal. Pertama, dilihat dari jenis dan ukuran usaha. Kedua, dilihat dari faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat kesadaran dan kepatuhan wajib pajak. Ketiga, upaya apa saja yang telah dilakukan Pemerintah, khususnya pihak DJP untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepatuhan wajib pajak, khususnya untuk para pelaku UMKM. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan Angket yang mana angket tersebut dibagikan kepada 20 orang responden. Dalam penentuan responden digunakan teknik Sampling Purposive. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang perpajakan sangat minim. Banyak dari mereka yang tidak memiliki NPWP, apalagi melapor dan atau membayar pajak, semua itu karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan pemahaman para responden mengenai perpajakan. Padahal penghasilan dan pajak yang berasal dari sektor UMKM sangat diharapkan keniscayaannya untuk membantu meningkatkan penerimaan kas daerah oleh Pemerintah Kabupaten Tulungagung.
