Sejarah Koperasi di Dunia dan di Indonesia

Abstract

Pada awalnya koperasi mulai tumbuh dan berkembang di Inggris pada pertengahan abab XIX yaitu sekitar tahun 1844 yang dipelopori oleh Charles Howard di Kampung Rochdale. Namun sebelum koperasi tumbuh dan berkembang sebenarnya inspirasi gerakan koperasi mulai tumbuh dan berkembang sebenarnya inspirasi gerakan koperasi sudah mulai ada sejak abab XVIII setelah terjadinya revolusi industry dan penerapan sistem ekonomi kapitalis. Koperasi masuk ke Indonesia sejak akhir abad XIX yaitu sekitar tahun 1896 yang dipelopori oleh R.A Wiriadmaja. Namun secara resmi gerakan koperasi Indonesia baru lahir pada tanggal 12 juli 1947 pada kongres I di Tasikmalaya yang diperingati sebagai Hari Koperasi Indonesia.
