Abstract

Tempurung kelapa memiliki karakteristik untuk dimanfaatkan menjadi produk-produk kerajinan. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini yaitu dapat mengurangi dan dapat memanfaatkan tempurung kelapa yang berada di masyarakat untuk dijadikan produk yang memiliki nilai. Kerajinan yang berkembang di dalam masyarakat selama ini masih terlihat sangat sederhana dan tradisional. Dengan meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap lingkungan, produk-produk yang diperoleh dan juga material alam semakin diminati. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan yaitu untuk memanfaatkan limbah tempurung kelapa menjadi sebuah produk yang memiliki nilai jual tinggi. Produk akhir yang dihasilkan berupa perabotan-perabotan rumah tangga yang sangat simple dan menarik,perabotan ini juga memudahkan ibu rumah tangga dalam mendapatkannya,dan juga sehat untuk kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan cara observasi atau pengamatan. Dengan demikian , limbah tempurung kelapa dapat menjadi lebih bernilai nilai ekonomis dan tentunya memberi dampak atau pengaruh positif kepada masyarakat. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu sebuah produk yang memiliki manfaat bagi masyarakat yaitu sendok sayuran yang memiliki peran penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
