Abstract

Gizi buruk adalah suatu keadaan kekurangan konsumsi zat gizi yang disebabkan oleh rendahnya konsumsi energy protein dan makanan sehari-hari, yang ditandai dengan berat dan tinggi badan tidak sesuai umur (di bawah rata-rata) dan harus diterapkan oleh tenaga medis. Anak dengan gizi buruk akan mudah mengalami infeksi karena kekebalan tubuhnya rendah. Selain itu, anak dengan gizi buruk biasanya memiliki ciri-ciri kulit yang kering, lemak di bawah kulit berkurang, dan otot mengecil. Biasanya anak dengan gizi burukjuga memiliki tingkat kecerdasan yang rendah.
