Abstract

Alkitab menjelaskan bahwa Allah menciptakan manusia menurut gambar dan rupa Allah yakni laki-laki dan perempuan yang pada hakikatnya sepadan. Namun setelah manusia jatuh ke dalam dosa terjadi pembedaan tanggung jawab dan peran antara laki-laki dan perempuan, dimana posisi laki-laki lebih dominan dibanding perempuan atau perempuan dianggap lebih rendah dari laki-laki. Ini juga terjadi dalam kehidupan masyarakat saat ini khususnya dilingkungan masyarakat tradisional seperti di daerah Toraja yang dimana masyarakat masih menganut budaya Patriarki yaitu terjadi pembedaan posisi perempuan dalam masyarakat yakni kaum perempuan selalu dianggap lebih rendah dibanding laki-laki dan kaum perempuan selalu dianggap lemah.
