Abstract

Kelahiran ekonomi makro dilatarbelakangi depresi besar dunia yang melanda negara-negara maju dan meluas ke seluruh dunia pada tahun 1930-an dalam ekonomi makro terdapat tiga permasalahan pokok yang dibahas yaitu inflasi pertumbuhan output dan pengangguran. Ilmu ekonomi mikro merupakan ilmu yang mempelajari fungsi masing-masing industri dan perilaku masing-masing unit pengambilan keputusan khususnya perusahaan bisnis dan rumah tangga dengan asumsi tertentu. Sedangkan ilmu ekonomi makro tidak memusatkan perhatian pada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi produksi produk tertentu dan perilaku masing-masing industri tapi pada penentu jumlah output nasional total atau dengan kata lain ilmu ekonomi makro merupakan studi tentang perekonomian secara menyeluruh dan lingkup masalahnya lebih kompleks serta lebih luas daripada ilmu ekonomi mikro.
