Abstract

"Status: Postprint" Forest areas in the village of Battang are forest areas that are utilized by the community for their livelihoods to obtain wood and non-wood products so that the community needs to maintain the forest ecosystem. Plants contained in the forest is a source of nectar for the forest bees to produce honey. Forest honey is one type of honey produced from the type of forest bee (Apis dorsata) obtained by honey forest hunters. Forest honey is natural honey that does not get the influence of fertilizer, pesticides and the consequences of air pollution, so it is safe for consumption. This activity aimed to assisted honey hunter group in managing the production of the honey forest with good quality and quantity, providing packaging that has a standard quality, making labels on product packaging, and marketing honey to the community. During this time the price of forest honey sold at low prices this is caused by the packaging of products that do not have standard quality, so the target to be achieved is to produce forest honey with quality product packaging and get P-IRT from the city government Palopo. Through this IbM program has been able to improve the quality and quantity of forest honey production in Battang urban village. The methods used in this community service activity has training, guidance, and assistance forest honey hunter group in Battang urban village to manage forest honey business.
