Pendayagunaan Air Limbah Rumah Tangga Untuk Produksi Sawi Organik

Abstract

Produksi air limbah rumah tangga tidak pernah berhenti, tetap mengalir melalui selokan, meresap kedalam tanah serta mencemari tanah dan air. Dampaknya terjadi penurunan dan kekurangan air yang berkualitas serta timbul penyakit menular. Dengan mendayagunakan air limbah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk organik dapat meminimalisir dampak pencemaran air dan tanah serta dimanfaatkan untuk memproduksi sayuran organik. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh air limbah rumah tangga terhadap pertumbuhan, produksi dan tingkat kesukaan konsumen pada tampilan fisik tanaman sawi serta menganalisis penggunaan air limbah rumah tangga untuk produksi sawi organik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Binjai Serbangan-Air Joman-Asahan pada bulan Januari - Maret 2017. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok non faktorial dengan 7 taraf perlakuan yaitu air kolam (Ao), air got (A1), air cucian piring (A2), air cucian beras (A3), air cucian ikan (A4), air cucian ayam potong (A5) dan urine manusia (A6). Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA dan uji BNJ. Urine manusia memberikan hasil terbaik yakni tinggi tanaman 35,11 cm, jumlah daun 25,00 helai, produksi per tanaman 181,75 g dan produksi per plot 1,43 kg, dengan potensi hasil 28,60 ton/ha. Tampilan fisik sawi yang diterima konsumen berasal dari perlakuan urine manusia 80% sangat disukai, air cucian ikan 90% disukai dan air cucian ayam potong 75% disukai. Dalam skala rumah tangga, potensi urine dapat digunakan untuk memproduksi 120,84 kg sawi organik/bulan, serta menghemat pengeluaran Rp.547.700. Skop Kabupaten Asahan, potensi urine yang dihasilkan 36.346.884 liter/bulan dapat menghasilkan sawi organik 17.325,31 ton atau senilai Rp 77.963.895.
