Abstract

Seiring dengan semakin ketatnya persaingan didalam dunia pariwisata, maka dituntutlah peranan kalangan akademis dalam menyumbangkan pikiran serta turut berkontribusi dalam pelaksanaan roda pariwisata. Mahasiswa merupakan salah satu komponen dari kalangan-kalangan akademis tersebut diharapkan dapat memberikan salah satu bentuk kontribusinya. Penelitian ini menguraikan peranan mahasiswa pariwisata dalam menyukseskan dan menyokong keberlanjutan program Visit Indonesia Year. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi lapangan dan kejadian Visit Indonesia Year (VIY), survei literatur. Setelah melakukan pembedahan literatur-literatur yang ada maka semua hal yang di dapatkan dari tahap ini langsung di cocokan dengan kejadian di lapangan untuk memperkuat analisi tentang bagaimana peranan mahasiswa dalam menyukseskan dan menyokong keberlanjutan program Visit Indonesia Year (VIY) yang diusung oleh menteri pariwisata dan ekonomi kreatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa pariwisata dalam hal ini sudah dapat menjalankan kewajiban sesuai dengan porsi dan kedudukan mereka, tinggal bagaimana bekerjasama dengan beberapa komponen yang lainnya agar dapat lebih mempermatang segala kesiapan dalam menyukseskan dan menyokong keberlanjutan program Visit Indonesia Year (VIY) yang telah di canangkan pemerintah sekaligus agar dapat mencapai target wisatawan yang diharapkan kedatangannya setiap tahun.
