Niveau de formation et résultats sur le marché du travail : Comment se situent les adultes nés à l’étranger par rapport à leurs pairs nés dans le pays ?

Abstract

Dans tous les pays de l’OCDE, les adultes migrants forment un groupe hétérogène, aux profils et niveaux de formation variés. Même lorsqu’ils sont diplômés de l’enseignement tertiaire, ils sont plus susceptibles d’avoir de moins bons résultats sur le marché du travail, notamment des revenus plus faibles. La participation au marché du travail est plus difficile pour les adultes nés à l’étranger arrivés plus âgés dans leur pays d’accueil et ayant acquis leurs qualifications dans un autre pays. Il est important pour les pays d’accueil de concevoir et de mettre en oeuvre des politiques qui aideront les immigrés à améliorer leurs chances sur le marché du travail, au bénéfice des individus comme du pays dans son ensemble.
