Portugal – Les écoles bâties sur le modèle de l'espace paysager : échec ou innovation ?

Abstract

Au Portugal, les écoles bâties sur le modèle de l’open space, ou espace paysager, ont suscité de vives critiques ; nombre de professeurs, d’administrateurs et même de parents considèrent que ce modèle spatial d’enseignement n’est pas adapté, et constitue à ce titre un échec. Récemment, toutefois, l’Escola da Ponte, l’une des écoles en espace paysager à avoir survécu jusqu’à nos jours, a été saluée comme étant l’un des centres scolaires les plus innovants du pays. Et contre toute attente, de l’avis de son personnel enseignant, c’est précisément l’architecture décloisonnée de l’établissement qui est à l’origine de ce succès.
